Carcasses are transferred through the washer thanks to the application of a special conveyor or - if the processing plant is equipped with a mechanised carcass track transport system - it is used to transfer carcasses through the washer.
Washers may be equipped with rubber whips alone or whips and brushes with plastic bristles.
Whip washers are more effective in terms of dehairing. However, at the rinsing stage brushes perform the operation more thoroughly.
Washers may operate in the two- shaft system: the washer with whips is located on one side of the track, whereas on the other side there is a screen protecting against water splash while the washer is working; in three- shaft and four- shaft systems. In the four-shaft system washers are located on both sides in the regular reflection.
The best washing conditions are created when carcasses are hanged on spreaders (the carcass rotates during the washing process).
It is possible to adjust the number of shafts and the method of their arrangement according to individual requirements.
Whip washers are manufactured according to the customer's specification (the height of the washer depends on the height of the track to the ground). |
